DIPOLOGNONS CELEBRATES TOWN FIESTA IN CHICAGOLAND

You will never get it away from Filipinos, the tradition of celebrating town patron saint called fiesta. Its a tradition handed down by the Spaniards years ago.  Dipolog, a city in Mindanao, Philippines has two town patron saints one is St. Vincent Ferrer (San Vicente) and the other is the the Holy Rosary.  The fiesta of San Vicente is celebrated on the last Sunday of May. Its a tradition of hospitality in which Filipinos are famous, where they open-up their houses to guests and strangers and serve them a lavish meal.

Today the same tradition was duplicated  where Dipolognons all over Chicagoland converge to Proesel Park in Lincolnwood to celebrate just that.  A procession and a mass was concelebrated by Rev. Frs. Nick Husain, Manny Duterte, and Alan Lastimosa

After the mass a sumptuous meal was served to all visitors and guest.  Around 600 to 700 attended the fiesta
