Rev. Fr. Manny Recera celebrated his 50th birthday at Lone Tree Manor Banquet Hall, Friday, October 10, 2008.  The affair was attended by 270 of the reverent father's close friends, supporters and guests. It would have been considered a luxury for a priest if he paid for it. No it was a fund raiser with a good cause. Fr. Manny celebrated his 50th birthday to jumpstart his campaign to give priests in his hometown of Dipolog a decent health insurance. In his speech at the event that the Diocese of Dipolog only give Ph10,000.00 (equivalent to $250.00) when they get sick and hospitalized, and hopefully he could change that.

A mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Manny Recera -celebrant and Rev. Fr. Manny Duterte and Rev. Fr. Nems Sayon -co-celebrants. A sumptuous meal was serve after the mass.
