Dapitanons in Illinois have celebrated the feast of Saint James (Señor Santiago) July 25, 2008.  Its been a tradition handed down by the Spaniards to the Philippines to celebrate and honor their town patron saints in a festive mode. Little that we know the Philippines has the longest tenure and domination by the Spaniards than any other country in the world.  Here in Illinois the Dapitanons and Zanortean did just that and hoping that the patron saints will bring bountiful and beautiful life to the inhabitants.

The fiesta was attended by Dapitanons and Zanortean all over Illinois. The events kick started with a mass performed and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Manny Recera -celebrants and Rev. Fr. Manny Duterte, Rev. Fr. Alan Latimosa and Rev. Fr. Nemesio Sayon -cocelebrants

It was also the culmination and coronation of the novena long canvassing for search of Hara sa Kinabayo 2008  (Queen of Horse Rider and that Apostle James was riding a horse in his fight against the moors in the battle of Covadonga, Spain) and was crown by last year Hara sa Kinabayo  Miss Tria Bustaliño
