Brief Personal Profile of
Alton Caermare Ratificar

Councilor Alton Caermare Ratificar is one of the most invigorating and very insightful councilors that the city of Dipolog has ever voted into the political arena since he was chosen by the Dipolognons during the May 11, 1998 elections.

Until now, he is a well established citizen and very much a down to earth person. You may stumble unto him as just an ordinary man walking around the city or driving along the streets often on his comfortable motorcycle.

Ratificar took his elementary education at the Miputak Elementary School from 1962 to 1968. He spent his secondary education at the Zamboanga del Norte National High School from 1968 to 1972. He accomplished his B.S. Gen. Science degree at Silliman University and also took his LLB degree in the same institution from 1972-1976 and 1977-1981 respectively. During his college years, he took the chance of taking up the Career Service Professional examination and eventually passed on June 6, 1978 with a 73.33% passing rate.

His previous occupation foretells an industrious employee of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) as the Deputy Sheriff from 1986 to 1989. His perseverance and money-wise character earned him a lucky spot as Manager of the Barreca Rubber Corporation from 1989 to 1990. His legal experience also brought him to work for two years from 1990 to 1992 as a Para Legal Officer of the MTCC.

Even up to this time, his ardor for singing and passion in theater arts makes him a crowd favorite during intermission numbers and even election campaign periods. This can be proven otherwise as he takes on the heavy responsibility as the chairperson in the remarkable celebration and success in the Pagsalabuk 2003 Festival in the City of Orchids.

His love for his dear wife Maritza Vallecer Ratificar earned them a very intelligent and loving daughter.
